== Early life ==

''Ezekiel Akinyemi'' was born in Staten Island and was raised in the Park Hill Projects. ''Akinyemi'', a first generation Nigerian American, was first introduced to music at an early age. As a young child he participated in his local Church choir. Originally a member of the youth choir, the church pastor, however, decided to move young Akinyemi from the Church choir to the soundboard due to his inability to sing well.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.thesource.com/articles/191078/DJ-Zeke%3A-On-The-Road-To-Being-Famous/ )〕 From there, Akinyemi would learn to use the recording equipment and work the record players situated in the church. Akinyemi would practice for hours each Sunday and quickly realized his passion for music. He would spend much of his early childhood mastering the techniques of record playing. In due time, DJ Zeke gained a reputation as one of New York's most prominent, up-and-coming young talents. He would soon catch the attention of DJ Spynfo, a premier NY radio host at WQHT and together with the help of some of New York's most talented young DJs such as DJ Sparkx and DJ Spider, would go on to form the supergroup "The College Club Kings," a network of popular DJs that reach over a million college listeners a year.
